An under construction flyover constructed on Gurugram – Dwaraka expressway collapsed on Sunday morning. The elevated section collapsed was located near the Daultabad Chowk. The incident happened around 7:30 a.m.
“The reason for collapse is yet to be determined, an inquiry will be initiated into the matter. As per information available until now, there have been no fatalities in the incident. There was no work going on at the side when it happened” said Nirman Jambhulkar, Project Director, Dwaraka Expressway.
Deepak Saharan DCP (West) said, “The elevated road collapsed around 7:30 a.m. Three people, all of whom are labourers, have sustained injuries, but are not serious. They are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Gurgaon. There have been no fatalities”
The estimated cost of the construction lays around Rs. 9000 crore. The project started in 2007. This 27.6 km long expressway connects the national capital and the neighbouring Gurugram. Among these 27.6 km , 18.1 km runs in Haryana and the remaining 9.5 km runs in Delhi.
